Hello,
I have come across a HERTZ CDP code through one of the numerous websites that list discount coupon vouchers/deals etc.
Once applied to the Hertz booking online form, this particular CDP code shows up as being linked to "SOS DISCOUNTS".

My ignorant question is: can this (or other) CDP codes be used by the general public, or is it only to be used by those who have specific ties with "SOS DISCOUNTS" etc?
(With this particular example I cannot find out any info on who or what "SOS DISCOUNTS" is - a company/organization or 'discount dealer/business').

Cheers.

I've never been asked for ID when using CDP codes. I use my employers CDP (legitimately) for leisure Avis bookings , an Amex Plat code for Hertz and an Accor code for Europcar and never had an issue. The only thing to be wary of is when certain CDP codes don't include some or all normally included insurance - so definitely check that.

There are lots of threads around debating whether using CDP codes you aren't entitled to would void insurance cover in the event of an accident by way of breaching rental agreements/T&C's. My reading on Hertz rental agreements and T&C says this is not the case but I'm not a lawyer
