I notice that Rental rewards are a bonus partner with Citi rewards.

Just doing the sums for using them to pay the rent with the CitiBusiness Gold. 1.76% of monthly rent (approx $1700), or approx $400/year, would buy just under 100,000pts.

On the face of it, I'd say good value. Any thoughts?

I should also mention that Rental Rewards has the QF logo on their site but don't offer points (apart from 1000 sign up and 12month renew bonus). Logo is there to highlight that you'll get points if you use card with QF option/direct sweep.

A bit misleading methinks, but it is on their website. For mine, the logo implies a more substantial relationship (in the same vein as Avis etc where they too provide QFF points regardless of payment method).

A word of warning from my experience with RR - I used them for a year or so of rental payments. I attempted to get the 1k points sign up bonus many times out of them - despite giving my FF# and following it up several times, they never materialised and I gave up.

interesting - just did a dummy booking through citibank takeflight on a flight I have just booked through my travel agent (which is the rock bottom rate).

Citibank comes out at $1 more expensive + 5000 points cost.

$1500 fare and it nets 4 pts to $1.... could be worth it on a premium fare if the price is good.

Where does it say RR is a bonus partner, on the citibank site?

I can't seem to find it (again) either. I saw it last week and it appears to be gone now. It is mentioned in the rewards catalogue. I sought clarification from citibank and they emailed back saying that rental rewards is a partner and that bonus points are 3:1. No word on why there's no info on the citibank site though.

The responses I've had from Rental Rewards regarding my queries do not inspire confidence that I should deal with them......

I used RR for a while, mostly for the welcome bonus of QFF points. But we had two nasty letters in a row from our rental agents - two payments in a row had taken nearly 2 full weeks to get them from RR.

Needless to say we moved away from them.

Is there a points cap for the business card? Or just the same as silver/gold/platinum levels? An issue may be if your points cap was enforced.

Hmm, never had any issue with them so far with payments taking 2 business days max to reach the agent. However it caused some issues for the agent when the first payment hit them as they weren't able to identify which tenant it's from, which was quickly rectified with a call to RR.

We found out after the event that our agents weren't really registered with RR, even though they were listed on RR's website. RR were actually posting them a cheque rather than a direct deposit type payment.

That's dodge. :( I mean, considering they advertise a 2 working day turnaround on their website.

From what I understand there's a points cap of 60k points/year on Citibank Business.

The 3 bonus points are excluded from annual points cap apparently. Only the 1.25 points count towards the cap, but, as I don't go anywhere near the cap, I don't know if it's enforced. Pretty sure it's 60k points/yr though (as you stated).
