Anyone had experience booking through these for a car in USA? Seems like it will be Dollar cars. Rate is good but Tripadvisor have lots of negative comments ...... Thanks.

I used Dollar 2 years ago on 2 occasions on 1 trip with the family. Booked via third party aggregator. They were fine with the prebooked paperwork, didn't try and upsell anything, and were adequately efficient. I had signed up with the Dollar-club or whatever they call it to give you a preferred queue. Although international seemed to have a different queue anyway. The shuttle bus wait was ~10-20min each way

There was nothing bad about the whole experience. It wasn't quite the same as the premium Avis/Hertz experience - but it significantly cheaper, and I was using my money!

I have used them in the past with no problems, although the last few trips I have used arguscarehire.com.au who I prefer as their insurance/extras coverage seems more inclusive (usually including tyres and road side assist).

I noticed argus got a lot of mentions
That was who I used too. You don't get the choice of company; that is only revealed after you commit to the hire. The price was good, and like the previous poster mentioned, it was the better, simpler insurance coverage that sealed the deal.

Used them last December, booked with Alamo car rentals. Everything went smoothly. Just remember to say no to all the add on insurances etc the rental co will try to sell you when you pick up the car.
