Hi Guys,

I currently have a ticketed First Class redemption SYD-SIN on SQ234 which is a 77W in April - this service is about to be cancelled as part of SQ's reduction in schedules...all cabins for this flight during all of April/May are now zero availability.

What will happen to my ticket - will I rebooked to Suites on SQ222?

That would be a bonus - I sure hope so.

Cheers.

Yep, you probably get lucky, they should simply re-book you on ther other flight if you agree to it.
Had it happen to me to SIN-ICN on a cancelled service in J, i got rebooked on a saver J fare from Regional J configured place to the 77W J :)

I guess it depends.... they could rebook you on a 747 as it also operates on this route.

worth trying for the suites though!

So they have gone from 1 x A380 2 x 747

to

1 x A380, 2 x 747, 1 x 77W

Back to

1 x A380, 1 x 747 1 x 77W (as the 77W takes over 232 from May or thereabouts)

Thanks Evan - appreciate the reply.

If they offer me the 744 morning options I will just state those are not acceptable and I need the flight closest to the original departure time which is SQ222 - I so hope they cancel the SQ234 now. Pretty excited.

I think you would have a good chance as long as there was space. After all they could have dumped me on the other flight that day that was a regional config.
There is a few people that have managed F suites by flight changes already where the A380 was comming into the schedule (IIRC QF009 got into them this way) so a cancell i hope for you is a similar situation.

Well the SQ234 has now been definitely cancelled and I was reprotected on the SQ232 morning service!

I've just phoned SQ res and told them this is not suitable since I want a PM departure and they came back with the usual 'we have class beyond First' on the A380 rubbish line...

I was quite firm and now they are referring it to their supervisor...I know if this was a commercial paid ticket in F they would automatically rebook to Suites - the remption should be any different - it still cost me 105K miles at the standard award rate which is not worth it for the 744 - if they insist on that i will cancel the booking and ask for full refund of points...

FYI, SQ232/231 gets upgauged to a 77W wef 02JUN09. ;)

GDS still lists eqpt as 744 but load the seatmap and you will see 1-2-1 in F & J.

Yup! I booked a saver J seat for this flight... looking forward to it.

39k or something one way in J.... much better than the 60K QF qanted!

I'm flying 24APR so the SQ232 is still a 744...just called again and being persistent about the SQ222...they are using the standard 'we do not offer First on A380'...

They are now sending the PNR to their yield mgmt - will let you know the outcome.

Thanks for the replies!

Good Luck - you do know we will be expecting a mini trip report if you get on the A380 :p

Thanks ANStar - will do.

If I get on this will be my 4th A380 trip...I flew SQ in Y class NOV07, and on QF First on SYD-SIN 16JAN inaugural and on EK's inaugural DXB-SYD in First - I had the shower too. So far EK's been my favourite - very opulent and over the top but I still loved it.

I don't understand why SQ is still so protective of this 'Suites' product - I can understand at the beginning when they were the only ones with the A380 but they do need a reality check about it now - especially in these times.

If it doesn't come through I will cancel the booking and ask for full refund of points - will then go on QF's A380. I love SQ's 744 First product but not for 105K points! I was really looking forward to trying out the 77W First I have to admit.

Hi all
I to have had a SQ plane change. On 27/5/09 I was due to fly LHR to SIN in J redemption(saver) on SQ319 a 747-400 so the standard business seat. SQ are no longer flying 747-400 in or out of LHR so I'm now on a 777-300ER so the new business seat .They didn't ask for the extra points to change seat. Of couse this lack of 747-400's means no more saver fares in or out of LHR so no more 64k J fares to LHR from Aus Grrrrrr now 115k(saver SIN to MEL) so nearly the same as QF but still far more availability

There have been some reports on the forum of saver fare avails opening up on the 777 the last couple of days - I'll try and find the link...

Hi Pauly7
I would be very interested as I have to make another reward booking soon
