Has anybody requalified while overseas? If so, does anybody have any advice re: the best way to get your card to you? I've requalified for SG (might hit WP) and I've got some OW flights after my requal. Don't really want to waste time in the lounge arguing with the dragons about my status, particularly as I have some CX flights on the itinerary :)

Any suggestions?

Sorry, I forgot to add that for my particular case, I'll be in the USA.

Cheers,
sl

From memory QF can fax you a letter of introduction.

Won't the status show on your Boarding pass anyway? even on CX?

Not always...

It is possible that the bookings system of the operating carrier may not pick up the change of status, hence not showing up on the BP.

AA has been known for this, not sure about CX. There are ways to work about it, but can require some proactive work by the OP to ensure all goes well.

Get them to remove your QFF no and put it back in, usually that does the trick.
If not, show them a screenshot of your online QFF status..

I reached WP whilst OS, and QF suggested I printout my Summary page from the Qantas website, which showed my new status, even though I didn't have the card. Worked a treat to gain lounge access, and for when I checked in; will admit I *didn't* fly CX - QF, BA & AA only, so can't guarantee it will work with them.

QF offer a courier option for the card locally so perhaps call them and ask if they also offer it for overseas ports (of course, you'll need to be in one location for a few days) if that's an option.

Or get it couriered to a friend/relative in AU and get them to DHL it to you..

Considering the costs involved in using a courier, especially internationally... surely you'd be better off fighting the lounge dragons...?

Fighting the lounge dragons... one of my least favourite tasks on a long-haul :)

I've only ever had problems with BA and CX. There are a couple of good options on this thread, so I'll see how I go.

Cheers for the tips,
sl
