This will take a bit of digesting for some.

Qantas have stopped the request service for premium passengers for all frequent flyer economy class seats. They will still look at requesting business, but yep, economy requests no more.

I was told late last night doing an around world ff. It started yesterday and apparently they have released more ff seats to compensate (in the special ff class for plat and gold).

Strange move I would have thought.

As long as you can still request business and first, I'm happy!
Though I dont understand the logic in allowing J(U) and F(Z) but not Y(X).

Never had any problems getting economy award seats as a Plat member. But have used the request process on a few occasions for business class award seats.

Are we talking about the ability for a WP to call up Qantas and get a guaranteed Econ seat as long as you pay money for it?

Regards
Daniel

Nope. Being able to call Qantas as a WP and requesting that they release an award seat from normal inventory.

Now that is a bugga. Is this for just domestic or for international as well? I will be doing an award RTW trip and would have appreciated this in my booking.

Daniel
