Qantas points available at Mapo (AFF#2 gathering dinner venue)

Everytime you dine at Mapo you can now earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points. How easy is that relax, enjoy dinner and earn points. Just remember to bring your card and we will swipe it and your points will be added on automatically.

It doesn't say what the rate is, though.

Re: Qantas points available at Mapo (AFF#2 gathering dinner venue)

I believe it will be three points per dollar for the restaurants they sign up...

Qantas plan to axe frequent flyer joining fee | The Australian
"It will this month unveil an addition that will allow members to earn three points for every dollar spent at up to 150 restaurants."

Don't think there is official confirmation from Qantas yet.

Re: Qantas points available at Mapo (AFF#2 gathering dinner venue)

Ah. When we had dinner there, we saw a little sign saying "Qantas FF available here" and when enquiring about it we were told that it wasn't yet ready and "coming soon". It looks like finally (4 months later) it's come to fruition; but appears to have been in the pipeline for some time.

Re: Qantas points available at Mapo (AFF#2 gathering dinner venue)

Ah, nuts. :( Just when I was paying for a huge bill there.

Naturally, had this been active when we went for AFF #2, perhaps a lot more people would have been actively fighting for the right to pick up the bill.

wow nice link!

I didn't know this existed, there are many restaurants/cafes in the list I have been to or dine at regularly.

No idea points were available at these places - will be keeping this bookmarked.

Thanks futaris!

futaris, I went to the Bavarian Bier Cafe at the Rocks Sydney on 13-April. Points still not posted.

It says

"Thank you for using Qantas F F. your purchase of $65.00 has been registered. Allow 7 days for any points to be added to your reward account. Rewards Real Quick with Qantas F F".

When I gave them my FF card, the waiter had no idea why I gave it to him. He asked was it a debit card. I pointed at the sign on the table for earning (which it didn't actually show earn rate). I had no idea that you could get them at restaurants either. Then he came back and apologised and said it was all new ... then I got my receipt.

They have a seperate terminal to ring this on, looks like an EFTPOS terminal but just for Qantas.

I reported this November last year, Mapo (Korean restaurant in Adelaide) had a sign up noting it; then a few months ago it was actually starting to offer the points as when asked in November, they mentioned it was coming but not ready yet.

Yes I noticed a QFF sign at Walters Wine Bar at Southbank a few of weeks ago, and was quite happy to get 117 points along with a very nice big breakfast for me and Mrs Opusman :)

Unless I'm actually planning to go to one of those restaurants (and remember about the deal), it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to claim the points since I don't carry my card around usually.

This would be so much better if you could claim the points after the fact using a receipt number or the like. The added benefit would be that the restaurants won't need to have even more hardware (find another power point for the Qantas machine in addition to the register and/or POS system, phones and whatever other tech they have at the counter).

I hardly ever carry my card with me either, and really don't want to be carrying yet another card around. It's surprising how many plastic cards one accumulates these days.

They don't weigh much, but do tend to make the wallet a little bloated.

I have a Hong Kong and Australia wallet these days, simply because they're the two places I go to the most, so I have the most cards for both of them. I the just transfer the CC and AMEX cards over.

With this and the Woolworths tie-up, it looks like the QFF program is morphing into something like the AA/UA programs where you get points for virtually everything!

Yep, Qantas have now sent the emails ...

I have merged the threads ...

Some of those restaurants are in the Entertainment Book. I wonder if you could get the EB discount PLUS the QF points... ;)
