Hi there...in the past QF would waive the 2500 point revalidation fee to change dates...now it looks like this is no longer offered...I had to change a flight and was advised the 2500 applies to everyone now...

Is this true? When did it change?

Sounds like it is true. But I wonder if this is indeed the case, or it is only the case if you don't get through to Premium Desk?

Why I raise this question, a couple of weeks ago I was changing flight dates/times (not routing or carrier) on part of my DONE4 itinerary, the Qantas agent wouldn't do it without charging me a $125USD change fee, as I was "adding" a stopover ... so I went back and checked the fare rules rang back ... different agent and this time there wasn't even a suggestion of a change fee. Done with no fuss in a minute or two.

The first agent did not seem to be from Premium Desk, hard to tell, but just by the way he answered the call and responded to questions, seemed lacking the usual professionalism.

But of course it could well be the case that the fee is no longer waived.

Actually the 1st agent may well have been the one that was correct.

If you have a transit and you changed it to a stopover then it should require a reissue and so there would be a reisssue fee

I have made numerous changes to a MEL-LHR award flight next Feb over the past 2 months.

One thing I recently noticed is that they now immediately charge you with the 2500pt fee for any changes.

Up until this time, I was free to make as many changes as I desired until the ticket was re-issued then I would be hit with a single 2500pt fine.

I'm only a PS for the record.

I didn't think this waiver was solely the domain of WP's, I used too have it waived back when I was a PS also.
