Recently secured my first rewards booking, done as a multi city SYD>HND & HND>HEL>VCE. Even though it was booked as multi and I change terminals in Tokyo, I've got 17 hrs transit and I just want to know if I can leave the airport bags and all to sleep in a hotel or is luggage checked all the way through?
QF Web has two flights JAL website has it booked as one, SYD through to VCE.

Thanks.

It will be your choice. Since your stopover is less than 24 hours, you can opt to have your baggage checked through in Tokyo, or if you prefer you can request it be "short-checked" meaning you collect it in Tokyo and then re-check for your next flight (by the standard check-in deadline for that flight). If it were me, I would have check my bags all the way through and just carry a change of clothes/essentials in a carry-on bag, should I choose to visit a hotel for some rest. There are a few options right at HND or you are in easy reach of many other places in the city along the Keikyu rail line or Monorail line.

Just make your intentions clear when you check-in at Sydney, so that your bags can be tagged correctly, and don't forget to collect them in Tokyo prior to exiting the customs area, if you do opt for the short-check.
