I generally use Qantas out of Wagga Wagga but recently have tried to book Rex a few times for staff that work for me, one flight they charged excess baggage because they had 23kg in a case thinking that Rex were the same as Qantas where 23kg is standard, sorry no so lesson learnt, use Qantas next time. The next case was I wanted to meet a staff member in Melb so I booked them on REX, our plans changed 36 hours out so I cancelled my Qantas flight no issues just the usual fee, Rex on the other hand wont allow changes less than 48 hours out.

Sorry REX but if your trying to compete with Qantas how about matching their customer service. We can no longer afford to waste time and money with your Airline.

Without wanting to appear harsh, isn't this really a case of reading what REX's rules are before booking and then following them. Yes, I am sure REX would love to compete, but you don't do that by copying the competitor to the tee?

Yes, Rex have a variety of fares with different change deadlines (48, 24, 2 & 1 hour), which come at different prices. Likewise it always pays to be aware of one carriers baggage rules, and not assume it is the same as others, especially when they fly a much smaller plane!

REX in some circumstances compete by offering routes others don't, eg MEL-WGA, if you go on QF it is a genuine waste of time as you need to go via SYD. Of course on SYD-WGA that QF may have an advantage in competing with Rex with their bigger planes.
