REX - Frequent Flyer Programme... kaput!

I decided to join the REX frequent flyer programme. I looked at it in the past and thought I wouldn't fly with REX enough to bother, but in the last 6 months, I would have had numerous free flights with REX that I thought I would be still able to claim if I joined, as I have all the e-tickets and most BP's

So looking at my travel bookings for Q1 2011, I have at least 16 REX flights, plus two this week and all the past taken- I jumped onto the REX website to be confromted after trying to join by:

The Rex Flyer program is temporarily suspended due to a revamp and will not be accepting any new members. Please check back in later for more information. For existing Flyer members, the program will still function as per normal. Thank you for your support.

Does anyone know (or care) whats up or whats going on? I can still join their lounge if I wanted to fork out some $$

I spoke to the Rex call centre about this last week and was advised that the relaunch had been delayed till early in the new year (January sometime they said) ,I was advised to hang on to BP's just incase they would give credit for past flights,the girl I spoke to couldn't promise that they would accept them but said that I had nothing to lose by hanging on to them.

Maybe it's being "enhanced" to one flight after 18 sectors, instead of after 9 :mrgreen:

Unfortunately the call centre operator could not give me any details on what the changes are or whether there would be any increased joining fee etc .

Has Rex employed an ex-QF employee from Loyalty programs?
