Ripped off by Qantas FF

I flew on QF1944 the other day, Cairns to Darwin via Gove.

I thought that would give me 15 + 10 status credit points, for the two legs.

I've just checked my balance and I only got 15 points - as they just gave me Cairns to Darwin. I also only got the FF points for Cairns to Darwin.

Is this correct? I feel ripped off. A stopover is a stopover, isn't it?

No. If it is one flight number, it is one flight.

This is correct. You have not been ripped off. If you want it to be two separate segments than you have to purchase it that way - as two separate tickets, which will cost more than the through flight.

Read the Qantas FF Program Terms and Conditions which make it quite clear that if the ticket says CNS-DRW then that is what you will be credited..

Indeed, both Damien and NM are correct.

Here are the details from the QFF webpage

A flight is a trip with a single flight number. If you have to change aircraft but the flight number doesn't change, it is considered the same flight. If the flight number changes during your journey, even if you continue on the same aircraft, this is considered two flights.

Well there you go. I went on the flight because it was cheaper than the direct flight - but I had thought about doing it again for the credit points. At least I know now not to bother!

I still think it's a bit stupid though.

"Stupid" or not, that's the way it was over 10 years ago when I joined QFF in 1994; so that's one aspect of the program that has not been enhanced! :roll:
