Round The World Tickets really this good?

or you can go to your local, knowledgeable TA - as i have done/am doing, and book a Lufthansa, or similar airline, around the world fare - so not exactly a RTW fare - for between ABOUT $6.7 AND $8.5k -- depending on the airline you choose, BIZ CLASS all the way..........
A number of airlines have their own round the world like fares that local agents can book easily. They are generally only valid on a small amount of airlines, not a whole alliance, are aren't anywhere near as flexible as the alliance RTW fares.
SQ has one, but you can only use SQ flights and would have to close the "gap" between SQ ports in the US yourself.
BA/QF had one called a Walkabout. Not sure if it was kept around after the QF/BA break up and QF's turn to EK.
