Re: S7 joining OneWorld

Have been looking at this. I'm really waiting on seeing what fare classes earn what on QFF. BA, AA, JL, CX have all been updated. Maybe QF are offended they were put behind even the MX livery. I guess it's like Malev or RJ, not that high on the radar for us down here. You know, the type DJ reckons you don't need ;)

There's some really cheap flights from Moscow to Germany on their front pages though they most likely won't earn anything. Half of them are code shares on Air Berlin or Niki so will have to wait a while longer before they credit!

You should find a few extra dots on the map now too oneworld Online Timetable. Interestingly it shows routes under the old name - Siberia Airlines.

So who is going to be first to book something? I'm thinking HKG-Europe via Moscow will be an interesting side trip in the future but there's many interesting distant place to go now.

Re: S7 joining OneWorld

I forgot this was happening.

I recall exploring their routes and finding a lot were seasonal :( so potentially they would be good to get into Europe another way, but eligible fare classes will need to be looked at first I suppose. I didn’t think they were that cheap either.

Re: S7 joining OneWorld

Could be a good use of AA miles, especially as eastern Russia is still part of Europe (AA Award).

10k in Economy, 20k in Business for Europe-Europe oneway.

And if you want to go to the USA, 20k/30k in Economy, which has to be transatlantic.

30k in Economy for South Pacific - Asia 1 (Korea). Buy a ticket from Korea to Eastern Russia, then 10k for Europe - Europe. 40k AA in Economy, which is only slightly less than the 45k a direct trip would cost.

Only problem of course is the Russian visas, etc...

Unfortunately at the moment you can only redeem AA miles on S7 as part of a OW award not a partner award or a 1 country award.
