Any idea why I can't book a one-way award flight Saint Petersburg to Helsinki on the Qantas site - no problem booking Moscow (Sheremetyevo International) to Helsinki - and of course I know one world partner Finnair flight LED - HEL make the flight - any suggestions ?

Peter,

Welcome to AFF. I couldnt do this either, if you are using QF points, which I presume you are you will need to ring them 131211.

I guess to list every permuatation on their website would be self-defeating as a quick quide and the inclusion of Moscow would be done for the same reasons for LON NYC ROM etc.

As a personal comment I would look at the efficient use of points over such a short sector, however I am not sure of the competition on the route, I am sure that Finnair is the only way to go if you want to avoid other Russian carriers (some coys have strict policies in this area)

Good luck

Yes - Finnair seems to be the only real option and while they will sell a HEL-LED-HEL ticket for $A170 they want $A420 for one way LED-HEL - only Economy Flex available - so 10,000 points sounds OK

Peter,

The equation then becomes $340 versus the 10,000pts. Personally I use points for U/G upgrades on longhaul. To me you get more bang for your buck, however thankfully we are all different!!!
