I fly Brisbane to Sydney all the time and I have never been able to book saver lite tickets, I travel light so I only need carry on luggage.
How am I able to book saver lite fares? They always seem to be sold out.

Thanks for the help, I'm new to the velocity program..

Definitely comes down to how far in advance you are booking... a current search shows that Saver Lite fares are sparse/non-existent between now and late-March... but after that, there's plenty availability showing across all flights on all days.

I cannot imagine knowing where I will be a couple of months in advance!

I always find saver lites to book

How far in advance do you book? Do you have a general idea of how many saver lites they allocate to each flight?

It's worse not knowing where you will be even a week in advance :(

I know what you mean, I just got called and I have to be in sydney tomorrow morning.

AFF has definitely changed how far out I plan my family holidays

Tomorrow morning???
Pay and fly J then, at least once!
Edit: there are 4 $269 Saver seats leaving BNE tomorrow first at 5.30am.
Saver, Flexi, and Business VA seats earn more VA FF points and SCs.
$$$ yes, but you still gain.

Said like a true AFFer... we're happy to spend more $$$s cause we know we're getting more points and SCs...!

Saver lite for tomorrow? Not going to be easy.

I have been looking at booking SYD-BNE return in April around the holidays and there is Saver lite available but only on a few flights per day. I guess it gets booked out quickly.

Unfortunately the way I travel I won't be able to book months in advance.. looks like I'm sticking to savers and flexis

Check Happy Hour if you know when you'll be travelling months in advance! Some of those offers are almost a year away sometimes.

From a revenue point of view, the airlines can play with the availability of fares.
They might for eg have no saver lites during school holidays.
Low fares might not always be available during times of high demand.

Probably very few from MCY to SYD or MEL.Basically don't see them booking from 4-10 weeks out.

Saver lite is annoying. Those of us with status (which is almost everyone on here) get a baggage allowance anyway.
The sooner they stop pretending and just make paying for baggage an extra option the better.
(or ditch paying for baggage altogether - not gonna happen I know)

This is enhancement to cater for your needs.

I know where my body is but not my mind. But the body books at least 3 months ahead because I retired early.
