Hi Everyone,

I've evolved from being mildly interested to an avid reader of every AFF tweet so I thought I'd better join.

I last used my points during the Double Credits promo to purchase J flights to ensure I make WP. Is this a good use of points?

Just wondering if anyone else is worried about Virgin. My mate works for them and says it's only a matter of time before they fold.

Well I haven't got WP yet as I haven't taken that flight/trip yet but the QC is always oacked when I leave for work so happy to go to Perth Business Lounge instead. Better brekkie

Did you use Points + Pay, or a classic award/upgrade for J?

You will get SC when using Points + Pay, but also get worse value per point compared to a cash fare.

You won't get SC when redeeming for a classic award/upgrade, but will get better value per point compared to a cash fare.

If you weren't far off WP (say within 100SC) and Points + Pay combined with DSC gets you there, I'd say that's a pretty good result.

Yes I used P+P and I did have to use a LOT of points compared to a comparative CA flight. Thanks
