Hello

This is my first question after enjoying this forum for a long time...

Is the SC earn rate on a discount premium economy fare the same as a discount economy fare...?

Many thanks.

Ouch!

That seems a little stingy.... NZ credits 85 "status points" (to the NZ Airpints program) for any Y fare SYD-LAX... and 145 for any Y+ fare...

Not a direct comparison I suppose.. but stilll... a lot better than 10%!!!

SCs are the same as full economy, but points earning is increased by 10% with a cabin bonus.

Its interesting to compare with AAdvantage where they only have 3 levels of status earning:
1. Deep Discount economy earns 0.5 EQP per mile
2. Discount Economy earns 1.0 EQP per mile
3. Full Economy (B and above), Premium Economy, Business and First all earn 1.5 EQP per mile

I believe BA is similar to QF, earning the same TPs as full economy plus a 10% cabin bonus.

So comparing status earning on different programs can present very varied results. Finding the one that is most beneficient for an individual requires a good understanding of the programs and expected travel profile.

NM.. your last paragraph should automatically come up whenever anyone asks "Which is the best program for me?"

Nicely put....
