Can someone please confirm how do QF calculate SC earn for multi-segment international flights, where all the segments have the same flight number.

e.g. QF9, which is marketed as MEL-LHR but is actually MEL-SIN-LHR. In J, is it 240 SCs (MEL-LHR, according to QF's calculator) or 280 SCs (MEL-SIN and SIN-LHR, according to QF's calculator).

I suspect it's the latter but wanted to confirm. Thanks!

If it is sold as MEL-LHR (on the ticket), then that is what you earn the SC's for, as though it was the one flight.

Oh OK - thanks for clarifying.

It's always worth checking if you can change your flights. I tend to go for QF9 MEL-SIN and then QF1 SIN-LHR (I think it used to be QF31 or maybe still is QF31 for a little while longer.) It means arriving at LHR about an hour later but it gives an extra hour in Singapore. (I prefer this to rushing about.) I then take QF2 (or 32 as is/soon to be was) and QF10. :)

Thanks for the tip - I assume this results in extra SC earn then too?

I wasn't asking for me unfortunately, but I'll pass this idea on to the person I was asking for.

One flight number, one lot of sc's

Thanks.

Thanks.
