Hi all,

Heading to Hamburg in May and one of the options puts me onto QF3943 from Frankfurt to Hamburg.
I found an old thread that mentioned you don't get miles or SCs for these trains.
Can anyone confirm that?

Cheers

I do believe that QF only awards SC's and points for air travel...

Some more digging seems to support this but leaves the door open...

9.4.1 Points are not earned for travel on:
(a) flights or booking classes that are not listed in or are excluded in the Airline Earning Table;
(b) infant fares (infant fares do not include infants travelling in their own paid seat);
(c) charter flights;
(d) freighter flights;
(e) free tickets or Qantas & Partner Classic Awards;
(f) travel industry rebated tickets;
(g) competition prize tickets;
(h) transport other than air transport unless specified by Qantas;
(i) tickets acquired at an auction; or
(j) tickets which are restricted from earning Points or are subject to any specific provisions excluding the accumulation of Points

This would imply that unless QF specifically state it's earned, it's not.

As a side note, I can confirm that points and SC's are not earned on DB services. They are included as a courtesy to QF customers to allow them to connect to the train seamlessly (AA also do the same for DB services, 'code sharing' on them, once again, no points/EQM's are earned on those either).

If you look up the fare conditions you'll see that Qantas have specifically excluded points/SC earning Deutsche Bahn services. There'll be a blurb something along these lines:

Qantas said:
Frequent Flyers do not earn points on Qantas codeshares with Deutsche Bahn.

Thanks Ewing. I couldn't find the reference.

I blame the b*s ;)
