For those that are after cheap seats.

Promo fares - ex-SG | FlyScoot.com!

MEL-SIN $300.00 and SIN-MEL $98.00

SIN-PER $48.00

Now that is cheap and sorry about title should have been other way around perhaps the mods can modify.

Will JQ follow suit & go cheaper than Scoot?

I suspect JQ won't be twiddling their thumbs for too long!

Will wait and see as even Star Class at $540.00 would be a good deal.

They do price beating, just need to call them.

JQ won't sit back on this development considering it's JQ's home turf I suspect.

I suspect JQ will announce their counter sale shortly.

Don;t think JQ will price beat for late 2015/ early 2016 flights..

That's all well and good. Have any of you good people out there actually flown Scoot? Well, I have.

My experience on Scoot OOL-SIN was quite nice. I was lucky enough to score an aisle seat with an empty seat next to me. Otherwise it would have been a bit tight. The check-in experience, however, is a complete nightmare. Takes forever. Too few agents and too many pax. Get there (very) early.

And no lounge. That's why I'll pay over the odds to fly JQ. Nicer seats/config too.

Interesting Feedback, I'm tempted to give them a go one day, but i'm with you, when you have QF Status it's more than just the lure of a cheap flight to make me switch.

Have also flown them and Air Asia X a couple of times. Nice enough for the price so long as expectations are low

I am guessing that JQ option will not be so great for the following reasons:

1. Not possible to make booking on JQ in late Dec early 2016
2. Not possible to price beat and then add Plus or Max bundles so forget about good value $/SC on JQ
3. I noticed that the Scoot Biz fares are very low, has anyone been successful in price beating other LCC Scoot Biz or Air Asia X Premium to Jetstar Starclass?
4. For the actual hard products in the cheap seats - I don't know which would be worse - the current 3-4-3 on the Scoot 772 (31" pitch and 19" width) or maybe a Scoot B787-8 or even -9 by then (seat pitch and width tba) or presumably a 3-3-3 JQi B788 with seat pitch 30" and width of 17" ? I assume all the A332s will be gone back to QF mainline by then.
5. The only compelling thing about the JQ offering will be WP acces to QF lounges - a benefit provided by QF and not by JQ.

Doesn't appear to be any announcement yet but checking JQ flights for October 2015 seems like Jetstar has lowered their MEL -> SIN return to $289. AU$159 MEL -> SIN, AU$130 SIN -> MEL.

Thanks to zzap's encouragement, I decided to book MEL > SIN with the plus bundles for $399.06. Booked for a long weekend in OCT, the 80 SCs will be a nice starter to my new anniversary year :D
