Search and booking issues trying to book Qantas Classic Reward flights

I don't know if there's some kind of trick to finding flights on the Qantas site but depending on which version of the search I use and what legs I select depends on what gets shown to me. Sounds weird, but bear with me. I use the front page search as well as the multi trip search to try and find what I need.

I'm booking SYD-MNL-HND and return 18/3/25-12/4/25 or roughly those dates, but the timings on flights don't line up great for CR and when I tried making bookings the other night, the system wouldn't work and of course the flights I was trying to book disappeared. Now I've found an itinerary that kind of works, but whenever I go to search potential flights that come up in one search, they don't come up in another. For example, JL745 NRT-MNL comes up when you search for ITM-MNL, but not NRT-MNL, it keeps showing me flights from HND that get in so late and would require a 24 hour layover in Manila. If the system was working a few days ago this wouldn't have been an issue but it ket bringing up a server error.

So if the greater minds here have some tips for me or some reading that I can do to better understand it all it would be greatly appreciated.

When did they disappear? Did you get to the payment page? Or was it earlier?

This looks like an example of married segments. It is unlikely you will be able to book NRT-MNL on its own.

You look like you are doing everything you can. The only other tip would be to try the call centre if you are having issues in booking an itinerary online.

You may have actually created a PNR which held the seats. Check your My Bookings page.

Great, thanks for the info. That gives me plenty to go on.

I tried booking the flights and going to the final step after entering my details, it would come up with a server error and to contact customer service. There’s nothing in my cart, which just shows an error exclamation mark and hasn’t loaded up in a long time.

When I went to try again the next day the flights didn’t come up as available. I ended up just going for the itinerary above and split it in two so I don’t end up with the same hassles as last time.

There wasn’t anything in my bookings unfortunately. Cleared my cart each time too, not that it actually works properly.

Such, when it occurs, generally only has a shelf life of that day.

My trips/cart have been borked for a long time. No matter what, it always shows up as something in the cart then comes up with this error. So even if it was in the cart, it wouldn't show up for me. Screenshot 2024-10-10 at 12.03.07 PM.png

It wont show up in your cart. If you get to the payment screen and then it shuts down on you, a PNR is often created and it will show in your bookings.

You can then sometimes call up and arrange to pay for it and get it ticketed over the phone.

This is not relevant to the desktop's "cart" which is basically non functioning.

This relates to performing searches while logged on, selecting flights and proceeding with (or close) to the last stage but not proceeding with payment - ot the payment fails. This can actually create a PNR with your FF number attached. With that, the booking sometimes shows in "your bookings", but only the same day.
