Hi,

I called up Qantas to preselect my economy seats for a Sydney to San Francisco flight in the near future.

Since the economy seats in rows 51 to 59 were being kept for "higher yielding" passengers, my choices were limited to rows 60 and above.

I decided upon seats 70A and B, as these seats are highly recommended by SeatGuru.

Can someone please share their experiences with these "back window two-seaters"?

Apart from the possible turbulence, how is the noise from back here?

Can I use the space between the window and window seat as extra legroom (leaning while sleeping I mean)?

Thanks

Travelled from HKG to SYD in these 2 seats last week - a good choice in Y in my opinion if you do not get exit row seats. Plenty of room to store things beside yourself, a little bumpy (motion helps me sleep), noise not an issue with Bose QC2 headphones.

I have travelled in these and in my view are the best when travellind in economy and there are only 2 of you.

There are hints that you experience more turbulance at the rear of the a/c, but I didn't notice anything about two years ago when in these seats. However, I think the pax that congregate for very short times at the rear of the a/c could annoy you with their conversations, but the FA's on my SQ flight would not allow them to do so for very long. You are far enough away from the WC to not be a problem with certain odours, and they are great for two people as you have no one climbing over you to get out.
