Anyone noticed any sudden changes to Classic seat redemption availability? Looking at booking some seats ADL – MEL return in June and there was lots of seats yesterday and today hardly any on the select dates. Yesterday you could pick your flight.

Any idea what could of happened?

There could be a problem with the booking engine, I know the Any Seat Award engine had difficulties the other day. On that note, have you looked at how much more an Any Seat Award would cost, you’ll earn points and more importantly SC’s with one.

That said, I’m seeing availability on every day for Classic. Same for Any Seat.

Also had a look on expertflyer.com and it looks like there is now 0 seats all day on the leg over to MEL (11 June) and some only on (14 June) returning to ADL.

Seems QF have dropped the seats overnight a few nights back.

Was looking at travelling Business as I tend to a lot so don't want to if i can avoid using the points for any seat awards.

Must have been a temporary glitch with the award booking engine.

Almost every flight has classic award availability on the dates you mention.

Not for someone without status when it comes to the ADL-MEL leg, I am only seeing 4 options via Sydney when using a NB account, I am seeing 3 direct flights with availability as a SG up to the 1440 flight, lots of indirect options!

Sorry if this is well known fact, but from the above I gather if you are a Platinum you get different award seat availability?

Platinum and Gold members get extra availability of classic awards, it can be a big difference, expecially if you want to fly on a Friday.

Humble apologies but that would suggest as a Platinum we are (still) getting much better availabilty for classic awards..

No better than Gold, but definitely better than Bronze or Silver members see. It has long been this way.
