Hi all,

My wife and I have booked LHR -> SIN on the A380 (SQ 321), and then SIN -> BNE on the 777 (SQ 245) in June 2018. We will have a 6 month old son, so will require the bassinet.

I am hoping to select my wife to sit in 17A on the A380, and 11A on the 777, as it looks like these are the best seats (across all variations). But I'm not sure where I should sit!!

On the A380, 17A looks staggered quite in front of 17D. So we couldn't talk across the aisle. Would I be better off picking 18A?

But on the 777 - are 11A and 11D closer together so we could concievable talk across the aisle? If we couldn't talk then there's not really much point, so i might as well stick with 12A.

It's difficult to tell from seatmaps or find any photos.

(Also, anyone know when the J refurb is happening to the A380s?)

The bassinet seats in the 77W's are 14A/K and 15D/F (old) or 15A/D/F/K (new). You cannot select row 11 unless you are PPS.

I think it might be a 777-200ER (772) (1:2:1)

This is the seatmap on the SQ seat selection page.

But - turns out I might not have much choice. It's the old catch 22 - I can't add an infant to the booking without knowing his name, but we won't lock in a name until the day he's born (November)! Someone else with an infant might snap up the seats before then.

Apparently VA allow you to put Baby <Surname> when you book direct with VA (and then change the name later), but when you book partner SQ flights they don't allow you to do name changes later on.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 'talking' issue - unless sitting side-by-side you're probably going to have to get up out of your seat to talk. Raised voices across the cabin aren't good for anyone.
