I am trying to assign a seat myself under manage my booking. I can assign all my QF flights but i do have some CX flights but at the end it comes up with no seat selection on CX flights. I went to CX website and it doesn't like any of the booking reference no that i have got from QF

How can i get a seat assigned to my on my CX flights which is on my QF booking.

In the past (on a LONE4) I have allocated seats on CX firstly by going to manage booking on CX's website (you need the CX ref number which iirc is different to the QF one but will be somewhere in your booking / eticket details) and then I rang up and allocated seating another time.

CX use a different booking system to QF. The CX system, called CUPID uses a different booking reference. You need to ask whoever make the booking to provide tou the CX booking reference or you can call CX and provide them your name and flight details and they should be able to give you their booking reference.

With the CX booking reference you can manage the CX portion of the booking from their web site. Or you can phone or email CX to request seating allocation.

Go to www.checkmytrip.com

Enter in your Qantas booking reference and note the Cathay Pacific Airline Confirmation number that will show once the page has loaded.

Go to www.cathaypacific.com and go to Manage My Trip, Manage My Booking

Login under Non-Member with your name and CX Booking Ref. You can then do a seat selection under Service Requests.

If that doesn't work for you then try entering your e-ticket number in place of the Booking Ref.

Thanks everyone for you help/suggestion. I already checked checkmytirp but it only shows e-ticket no which only QF no and no CX booking reference

I might give CX a call so i can allocate the seats

The CX booking reference should be a 5 digit code.

Have you tried managing your booking on CX with your family name , given name and booking reference or e-ticket number (which is 160 and then 10 digits) but I guess that may not be possible as your QF e-ticket number would probably be 081-xx_xx_xx_x?

You spot on the e-ticket no from QF is different and it doesn't like that

If the CX PNR locator is there it will be under the e-ticket number box in:

your flight selection

Airline confirmation number(s): Cathay Pacific Airways xx_xx

Someone may have already sugggested it but you can try ringing Cathay Pacific in Australia and with your name and flight number and date they should be a CX reference code.
