We booked for this flight a while back on a 4 class 744, and as baby G is an infant under 2 were allocated the bassinet seats at bulkhead in row 63.

Since then baby G has become a toddler and I don't think will fit in bassinet. I doubt she'll sleep in there anyway as it is a daytime flight. She now also toddles about...

I've applied for upgrades to both j and Y+, but of course wont know what becomes of that until T-12 or thereabouts.

I have couple of choices here I think...

1) Put Mrs G & and I in row 40 A & C, the window /aisle of a row of 3 and hope that the phantom blocks the middle or that no one takes it. Risk - someone does take it and we have baby go on our laps for 11 hours. Benefit - possible row of three "best" Y seats
2) Buy Baby G a classic award in Y and take all three row 40 seats. Risk - no upgrades as she wont be eligible on Y award. Benefit - definite row of three "best" Y seats
3) Do nothing and hope for upgrade. Risk - same situation as 1 but in nicer cabin with nicer FA's etc, or same situation in worse seat but might be able to put baby in bassinet.

We are flying QF 063 on 6/10. Any thoughts, or possibly any hints form EF as to what might happen?

Had a look at the loads on that flight and it seems like a pretty empty flight to me;
As they are still selling the cheapest W and J seats I would keep my fingers crossed for the upgrade to either W or J

Thanks, fingers crossed for J & I'll definitely take the chance on the middle seat in row 40 as well.

Return flight is QF 64 on 22/10 - as this is a Sunday I suspect it might be more heavily loaded.
