Sadly on an upcoming JFK-SYD in J, two seats in the middle aren't available.

But 2F is, as is 1K and 2K.

As Seatguru shows the middle/aisles don't line up perfectly.

So I think the best pair is 2F+K, since the window 'desk' is by the window.

But wondering if 2F / 1K better to be more closely aligned (and both pax get a nice footwell).

This row 2 and I’d say 2K is more aligned and less gap as 1K the console is on the left.

We had a schedule change for an upcoming trip and the return flights in a few weeks now includes QF8 DFW-SYD (in lieu of AA LAX-SYD). We took 3A/3K! Probably sleep most the way anyway….😁

We flew in 1K & 2K last week. 1K is quite private and doesn't align with centre seats at all. And although 2K doesn't either in terms of being able to interact, as @milehighclub suggested you are closer because your seat is against the aisle (as opposed to the window.) If you have EF, set up a seat alert for 2 seats together. You may get lucky.

The front middle pair have a bassinet, so grabbing that if it frees up inside T-80 / checkin is a win-win.

As P1 I usually can get it released early if I ask nicely.
