Hi, Im a newbie at this Frequent Flyer stuff but I find the idea of manipulating the FF program really intriguing. I've been a Bronze Member for two years. I've almost made it to silver but never quite got there. Im at 260 SC right now. Im doing a BNE/MEL run on Saturday to get me to Silver.

Im wondering what people's opinions are about how best to collect Rewards Points?

See you in Business Class...

I would call it "maximising one's opportunity"¹ or MOO. :D Welcome to AFF.

Probably also depends on what your patterns of flying are and where your based in terms of if its better to accumulate them through flying or spending...

For me i live in WA, no real close, cheap destinations, i don't tend to do a lot of regular flying, more like one lot of big travelling in the year than lots of small trips and out of my own pocket rather than work...

I could spend $400 on a return trip to Syd/Melb on Qantas and accumulate 6,000 QFF points or so, or i could take out a credit card for $100-$300 and earn 20,000 to 50,000 points... You can't purchase status credits towards higher QFF levels though so if that is one of your aims, then flying is the way to go perhaps...
