Friend wants SGN->SYD OW say 6 Feb 2011
HHOW1 JQ H One-Way 252.00(USD) E -- / 12M
KHOW1 JQ K One-Way 282.00(USD) E -- / 12M
MOWSTVN MH M One-Way 460.00(USD) E

I see H7 so I guess he can just rock up to any old .vn travel agent.
Ticket says must book in SE Asia like .vn - but what does this mean, can he use an proxy and burrow into .vn JQ or .vn credit card. Dunno know what and MOWSTVN is saying.

Secondly I looked KUL->MEL on that date and did not see any AirAsia flights and I think Tiger has gone AWOL too. Is there some option I have to set? or does EF not do charter airlines.

Thirdly, I have to use the back logo in EF not the browser back button.
sometimes it takes a few go's . I can sort of accept this - I am sure EF is working hard behind the scenes waiting for replies. I think narrowing down my request will make it more responsive.

Thanks

AFAIK, being ultra LCCs, Tiger and Air Asia don't sell through GDS, only through own online sites. Therefore not on EF and need to look on airline's own websites. ALso, have you checked Jetstar website for Jetstar availability, that's one place to look for buying flights ex-SGN?

Wouldn't the quickest/cheapest way to go be SGN-DRW-SYD on JQ, assuming there is a decent promo available?

But watch out for the school holiday period...

For several journeys, it toggles between who is cheapest. JQ out, AirAsia back to .au. Between JQ and AirAsia+Connecting flight there has been little in it.

Some don't like JQ out of Darwin - its a drag, and the airport pub does not do local barramundi, but meekong delta frozen catfish fillets, and the decor of DRW has the ambiance of Crown Casino, rated lower than Rooty Hill RSL.

It is an eye opener that many 100's nay 1000's can be saved depending where the ticket is bought. ExpertFlyer has a use if you have international offices. I bet DFAT don't purchase wisely, or proxy os embassy's to nail the best deals and pop the tickets in the diplomatic bag.

Friend rang Vietnam and parents told him same price as here, so maybe JQ has mythical placeholders. The expected plan - AirAsia flys out of Sydney - super promo, did not come about, because MH objected.

Would have been nice to try Air Brunei, but they are being gentlemen in not going downmarket. Got to keep my eye on Air Macau and Emirates, who sometimes surprise.
