Shoes On, Shoes Off

On my to-do list is to purchase comfortable slip on shoes...good for the plane and practical for security checks on departure.

+1, other similar shoes are Airflex, I have pairs of both brands, both are nice and light and very good for travelling.

I wear comfy walking slip on sandals (not thongs) and hubby always wears high ankle boots (similar: https://steelblue.com/au/en/boots-and-accessories/boot-catalogue/ankle-boots/argyle-zip/) but they have a zipper on one side so its easy to slip off/on for security checks.

On the plane, we both put socks on and use slippers for walking around.

Sigh, the germaphobes ruining for everyone with their propaganda! I'll leave my shoes on until at least the seatbelt sign is off, then remove them and replace my socks with the airline provided socks. Shoes go back on if I'm going to use the facilities.

Love my Skechers Go Walks (pillows for my feet!), have them in a multitude of colours and they can be thrown in the washing machine too!

I love my Sketchers Go walk 3's. so comfortable, so practical, light, machine washable. but I can't say they look good. I think they're ugly as sin.

I have been wearing moccasin style black leather slip on shoes for a long time. Easy to slip on and off. I do take shoes off in flight but shoes back on again if I have to walk around. Occasionally feet swell and shoes are a struggle. Apologies if shoes/socks smell.

I usually wear runners or Skechers when flying but have a pair of on-flight slippers in my bag. I always take off my shoes after the seat belt sign is turned off, put on socks and use the slippers when using the facilities. I just cant wear shoes during the flight.

I'm generally pretty comfortable in my regular shoes so tend to keep them on for all but the really long-haul flights. Even then I'm reluctant to remove them unless I am in my own suite / separate seat (when travelling solo) or travelling with family or close friend. If there's a stranger next to me out of courtesy I'll keep shoes on if I can.

I don't mind others going shoes-off -- as long as feet (shoed or otherwise) aren't placed where they shouldn't be.

If sneakers aren't your style, RM Williams are the easy fix for a good travel shoe.
I've never been one to take my shoes of for domestic travel, but international flights for sure.
