Hi all,

Thanks to getting some bad news, I may be flying MEL-LON in a few days time and returning some time in early Jan (would need to be back by 04/01). Possibly not the best time to be flying without much notice, but such is life.

I'm aware the prices are likely to be through the roof this time of year at not much notice, but was wondering if anyone knows of a site covering multiple airlines that will give a range of price options +/- 3 or so days from a given date so that I might be able to save at least a couple of hundred bucks.

Thanks for your help

Steve

If the bad news is a family member, try ringing your preferred airline and asking about a compassionate seat. It will help with availablity, but I am not sure about the price.

Of course I may be reading far to much into your post, so apologies if that is the case.

Thanks both. Will be having a few conversations with family back in the mother country tonight to what dates I'd need to be there if I was going and work from there.

Thanks for the suggestion JessicaTam. It is indeed bad news about a family member. Once I have an idea of dates, will see if a phone call to Qantas will help with using miles at this time of year. I'm not hopeful, but then again, I'm sure that stranger things have happened.

Cheers

Steve

I am sorry to her that Steve. A PM to Red Roo might help point you in the right direction if you get stuck.

If you can book with an UK website such as Bravofly I can see tickets on China Southern for £1,158.56 (About 2k AUD) for 25/12 - 05/01.
