Hi,

I have a Flight SYD - CHC early next month and i have requested an upgrade (ecn to bus)

I have notice others talk about upgrade requests showing on Check My Trip (CMT) as waitlisted or similar before the flight,,
But when i check my details on CMT it shows nothing about the upgrade.

could some one please let me know if i am worrying about nothing ,, or if i should be ringing QF to check it all out ??

BTW on the QF web site, it shows that i have requested an upgrade to Economy :confused:

"An upgrade to Economy is requested. Status of upgrade will be shown 5 hours before departure."

any idea why this is what the web site shows ?

Flight is QF045 1/3/09

Thanks for your help

MCM

"Upgrade to Economy" is a bug in the QF system that causes great angst/mirth (depending who you ask). Ignore it, you'll be listed for a J upgrade.

Cant explain the CMT result. Sorry.

All is normal, including the requested upgrade to Economy.

Sometime 12-36 hours before your flight Qantas will insert a Wait listed business class segment into the booking - this will then show on C/M/T.

About the same time, www.qantas.com.au/yourbooking will show the upgrade as being declined.

This will all stay that way unless your upgrade is successful, in which case C/M/T will show only the Upgraded segment, such may (or may not) be reported on www.qantas.com.au/yourbooking and your QFF points will have a rather significant reduction.

That is all correct - most notably do not expect anything to change with the reservation until that all important 24 hours before first port flight departure.

To keep it very simple, if in the period commencing 18 hours before the flight up until departure, the upgrade points have been taken from the Qantas Frequent Flyer Account, you know the upgrade has been successful.
