I just received (well my wife did, VA refuse to send me emails) an email about VAs new advertisement that will run during the AFL finals, "Show Your Colours". I'm not sure how it relates to an airline and I'm not sure whether they are speaking of footy colours or skin colours (perhaps both) but any attempt at uniting all Australians and encouraging acceptance I fully support.

Though not being an AFL man, I'm a little confused as to whether all AFL disciples read backward, whether the guy below just has his shirt on inside-out or whether VA hasn't bothered to proof-watch their ad! ;)

I haven't seen the add at all, just the screen shot posted. Is he looking in the mirror and is that why the image is reversed?

OH oh, now we're getting deep. Is there some kind of symolism of the looking in the mirror I'm missing (it doesn't look like a mirror to me though)? You can view the clip here.

Clearly a mirror shot (image). Him sitting at the side/edge of his bed looking into the mirrored wardrobe doors. (We all do that ). The white sliding door frames (left and right of him), and his (out of focus 'true') right shoulder on the very left of screen. The camera is 'looking over' his shoulder.

'Clearly' if you closely examine a screen shot. Is that what was meant to happen? I suspect that it was one of very many clips (possibly originally longer where the mirror effect ismore obvious) got dropped in by the promotion mob without realising the reversed writing. Wouldn't be the first time a blue like that was made.

sorry Virgin I am NOT "defined by my colour" - footy or skin - and I think this is a ludicrous ad, much like the silly 'united colours of Benniton' (spelling?) campaign. Stick to flying, Virgin.
