Just as Air Asia is pulling its DRW-DPS service, Silk Air is now beginning service on the Darwin to Singapore route. Silk Air's website only has full fare economy prices loaded @ $1,000 return tickets and $600 OW tickets.

Bestflights has the following $589 retun a.i. fares:Not bad if you are going further than Singapore. Valid during the upcoming school holidays.

Darwin has had plenty of $99 one way specials to SIN in the past, which then allows you to grab a LCC anywhere pretty cheaply, problem is you have to get to Darwin, which is normally 3x the same price!

For those of us who live in the Bush or Darwin (the local market), $99 fares to Singapore during school holidays is a dream! Jetstar flights during school holidays are very pricey to SE Asia. This is another option for us.
