I recently qualified to have my Silver renewed and in the process have enough SC's for Gold subject to flight qualification.
Two questions:
1. When does the clock start for the 4 flights - i.e. do any of the flights in the last six/twelve months count? Or is it from the Silver renewal date?

2. As and when I reach Gold, how long is the membership period - 12 months from qualification or parallel with the Silver membership period?

Thanks.

1. Based of flights taken in the last 12 months, the velocity my account page will tell you how many flights you need.
2. You will be upgraded to gold for 12 months from the qualification date. If you don't re-qualify within that year you will be dropped back to silver for another year.

Unless you expect to get up to Platinum in the next 12 months, I would suggest family pooling your SCs until you have done the four flights or the SCs will be 'wasted'
