I am on an AONE* in Aug/Sep 2024. I am flying QF1 to SIN in F, then connecting to JL38 SIN-HND in J (to connect at HND to JL12 HND-DFW in F). Flights in and out of SIN are terminal 1, and my layover is 4 hours or so.

JL J class gives Marhaba Lounge Access at SIN T1.

I'm an Amex Platinum Card (USA) holder, so I believe that gets me access to the T1 Plaza Premium Lounge and the T1 SATS Premier Lounge.

I'll be wanting a shower on this layover as there won't be time for one at the HND connection.

I dropped back to QF SG this year (after 20+ years of WP and P1; oh the humanity! But being remedied by the forthcoming AONE* trip), so I gather that I'll likely be point-blank refused entrance to the QF first lounge at SIN as next class of OW service is J not F (and it closes at 11pm anyway, and my onward flight to HND isn't until 01:50).

Any views on which lounge I should park myself at for my layover? Thanks!

Without a doubt, the QR lounge!

It's possible you could get access to the QF F lounge. Official policy is that oneworld connecting lounge access is granted if the long haul flight is in F and the connecting flight is under 5 hours (which SIN-HND is not) but it doesn't hurt to ask, although you are right it does close at 11pm (unless QF1 is delayed onwards to London).

The Marhaba lounge isn't worth a visit nor is the Plaza premium or Sats lounge.

As mentioned the QR J lounge (which isn't open to those with status only those flying J/F) is a good option with a la carte dining and open until 2:30am, detailed review from Milelion here:

My only comment is that the QR J lounge is tiny and as a result if it's busy or wait times for a shower are long, you might have more luck at the QF J lounge (open until 1am) after QF1 has departed for LHR around 11:30pm.

I have often used the QF Business lounge for a shower before moving on ...

Yep, QF J has 20 shower rooms (most at Changi and more than SQ) compared to QR J with 2 male, 2 female and 1 accessible one.

Showering in another J lounge then going to QR for food is great. That's what we did last November.

Thanks everyone. That's very helpful. The Qatar website currently says "For Qatar Airways and oneworld First and Business class ticketed revenue customers only. Guests are not permitted.", so I'll have access on my onbound JL J boarding pass.

I'm back through SIN on the return journey and will be flying in QF F then so will be able to have a stickybeak at the QF F lounge then.
