I just returned home from a 5 month trip around Europe and have to say that the flight from London to Singapore on the A380 was a pleasure. I was in economy, there was plenty of leg room, the KrisWorld (Touchscreen Entertainment System) was fast and easy to use, it had a huge selection of Movies, TV Shows, Music, and Games.

The taking off and landing were brilliant, a lot less shake at landing than some of the older jets, which is expected.

But overall, a very enjoyable flight in a great plane.

Sounds good. It is nice to hear positive experiences in economy on long haul flights.

I will get to try out the SQ A380 from SYD-SIN on Boxing Day and I am looking forward to the experience....

I have flown both in Y and J on the SQ A380. Y upstairs is nice and quiet, but J is unbelievable (flat bed, wide seat, huge TV and service that would put QF to shame!). Back in Y on the A380 again in 3 weeks, en route to BCN:-|

:( but the whole ' not bumby ' takes the fun out of flying!

Turbulence and scary take off/landings is what i look forward too!

However does sound nice - ive never flown SQ dont think i ever will that is unless they ditch *alliance and go OW (which just wont happen)

John K......Just make sure you get seats on the upper deck... much nicer!

And for those who have flown in it....QUIET isn't it?

Yes, SQ is pretty good. And the 380's are really quiet.

BTW, soj, welcome!:D

I would agree take offs are great with the big acceleration, the landings are good too with deceleration, but the shaking just gets you that little bit iffy.

Thanks for the welcome auriga

I agree. SQ A380 is slient compare to their other planes in the fleet. I was on SQ227 J, I really had to put on the headphone to sleep. You can hear the chatter in the galley, the snoring from other pax (from the otherside of the cabin)... Admittedly, I was sitting in 15K, so my fault for choosing a seat close to the galley... But snoring pax... grrr

(Note: it was my partner who snored... who was sitting in front of me in 14K.... _

I have had 77G allocated for close to 6 months. But who knows where I will end uo with my luck. Perhaps I should just pay USD50 and get exit row pre-allocated....

I'm about to book a SYD-SIN-MNL and intend doing the same... Given the fares another $50 isn't too bad....can't do it for the SIN-MNL flight.. not allowed on regional 772's apparently.. but it will help on the long leg.

Can't use the 380.. ever since it moved from the am flight to a pm one I have to take the 773....:(
