Anyone else ever have bother trying to book an upgrade online with SIA? Or is it just me? Just finding it used to be one thing....they have made it a bit easier but when I click on the icon in my booking it just tells me that they are unable to do it. If there are no seats available, why don't they say so? I called to find out what this meant and was advised to make a Business Saver redemption booking on the same flight, waitlisted. Will they match up my economy booking or if the waitlist comes through, do I then have two bookings? It's a bit klunky.

Yes klunky !
I had a similar problem, i went into the SQ office on orcharge road and asked how to do it and the effects, the guy seemed confused as we are... and then low and behold my saver -50% redemption in J waitlist cleared ! i guess because somebody 'looked' at the booking ??

I would have to agree that the SIA site doesn't work the way that the Australian brain thinks that it should.

So they are saying that a saver award is the same points value as an upgrade.

One observation that I do make is that there seems to be more logic about what flights a member is on. Ie when trying to book the Singapore Stopover it is aware of your booking and dates and how many people travelling. Maybe this same background linking is responsible for datamatching the Y Pax to the Waitlist.

I also agree with you Trivalv, "It's a bit klunky"

I do recommend though, if possible before booking your ticket call KF centre in singapore and ask them if they have any upgrade available
on that particular flight your intending to book.
