Obviously that depends on the flight you're on. Most of the time SQ285/6, for example (to/from AKL), is totally full in econ.

Maybe the alternative flight would be better from that point of view. Of course sometimes the alternatices are things you probably wouldn't choose. From Perth, I imagine the flight to SIN that departs at 1:30 am is probably not heavily loaded, but not likely a flight I would choose either

And they must all sit down the back of the plane on takeoff from AKL, resulting in dragging the tail along the runway for several hundred metres before takeoff :shock:

Pretty much - QF dragons might not offer the world's best service, but at least they can be trusted to evacuate the aircraft when the balloon goes up.

The same can't be said for the bimbos on Vermin Blue, or the "hostesses" on SQ.

Yes that's the case with AKL too, especially now SQ281/2 is retimed. Much lighter load except in peak season.

Last week I had my first SIA flight in a long time. Now, granted I was in Economy, so wouldn't expect all the stuff that goes with Business Class. I would say, however, that I found their service fine, and can't really find a reason to fault it.

One tip for *A Gold people, if you're travelling on Singapore Airlines in Economy Class, ask to be seated in an aisle seat in the centre section (althought not too close to the front) and when you check in, ask if they will consider blocking the adjacent seat. I do this quite regularly and providing the flight is not heavily booked, you can most likely end up with a spare seat alongside you.
