Does anyone know of anyone in Singapore I could use for a car and driver hire - maybe for 3-5 hours?

I have done the HOHO bus in SIN, and seen the tourist sites.

I would like to drive around the various parts of the Island and see what it is like.

Any ideas please?

TIA

Aa quick update: i have asked around various company's in Singapore. It seems as though what i think i want to do is either not widely done, or if done, very expensive to do.

i have been quoted between $200 and $500 for a driver/guide to do a circumnavigation of the Island over about 3-5 hours. i think I'll be crossing this idea off my bucket list !!! :)

There are three other options to explore the less well visited parts of the Island.

1) Grab/Uber/Taxi from point to point at the various points you want to visit (I recommend downloading the Grab app, it has the most drivers and reasonable fares). I just looked at Grab, taking 10 separate journeys to circumnavigate the island .. comes in at $144 at the moment, although this varies by time of day (noting that all trips are fixed fare at the time you book, so you know what you are going to pay, although the fixed fare does vary according to supply and demand throughout the day).
2) Get an ez-link card and use buses and MRT. Buses cover most of the island, with frequent services. This obviously will take longer.
3) Combination of 1) and 2) depending on where you are and where you want to get to.

I've done this before, YMMV. Book an Uber Black at the airport to your first destination. When the driver comes. Talk to him about what you want. Offer about 50-60SGD/hour + some tips for ERP. Good chance they will accept or know someone with the same class of car willing to do it.

If you want to do it on the cheap, do the same on UberX. (chances are lower as some drivers are part time). You can offer $30SGD/hour + ERP Tips and see how you go.

If either one of these options are too expensive, then take public transport.

$200 for car AND driver for that long? Sounds good to me...what would you expect to pay??

Actually the 200 dollars was a couple of years ago, now that I think of it. I think the today's prices I have been quoted are in the 400 dollar range. It just seems a bit expensive to me for a coupe of hours of almost straight out driving, with a few passing comments on where we are and what happens here......

But maybe I am being a bit tight, or have unrealistic expectations?

Singapore has lost its allure as a value city. I would just jump in a cab with a decent driver and do the deal before we move.

It was a fishing village a few years ago, a bit of urbanization there is not that much more to see really.

You see most of it as you fly in or out.

UPDATE: I wound up checking with the Singapore Tourism Board. They gave me a couple of links - to the Society of Tourist Guides Singapore, and NTUC Tour Guide Chapter.

i emailed both email addys they gave me; and they arranged for a number of guides to email me directly. i emailed a number of the guides; discussed options; and have settled on one guide who will take me around the island for about 4 or 5 hours for about SGD $250.00, which i thought was a pretty good idea.

so off i go in October...................
