Hi everyone,

Has anyone been able to book to go on the new A380 with Singapore airline on first class using Velocity points? I know i could transfer velocity points to kris flyer but i want to see if it's possible to book with velocity.

Any tips or help would be great. :)

Thank you

SQ F availability isn't shown on Virgin's website but if you find availability via KrisFlyer, you can try calling Velocity.

I had a lot of trouble last month booking Singapore (old) First class SIN-MEL, 3 months out from departure. Krisflyer site said wide open availability but it hadn't been released to Velocity. Numerous calls over a month to Velocity I eventually gave up and transferred points to Krisflyer and redeemed there. Velocity couldn't even see J space for most flights!

Maybe the space would be released closer to departure but I didn't want to risk it. The new suites (SIN-SYD) I think were not even available as a saver redemption on Krisflyer.

Velocity redemptions: phone 13 18 75 8am-8pm, expect to talk to a Filipino call centre.

Im booking 12 months out as I need 3 tickets. I’ve got two tickets secure and am on waiting list for the third.

Yeah I’ve tried to call Velocity everyday and Singapore first class doesn’t seem to even exist for Aug next year. Maybe it’s too soon? I just heard that you need to book in advance as everyone grabs Singapore flights due to lower tax.

Thanks

I booked flights to London for August 2019, in September this year basically returning on 330th day, Did F on Etihad there and F on Singapore on the way back, only getting the Old suites on the SIN-SYD leg, My advice is to book the Singapore airlines flights as soon as you can as I couldn't find a F Singapore to London.

I recently transferred points to Krisflyer and booked several flights in Business most of which did not show on the Virgin site.
Even at the 1:35 points trade I found it a considerably better deal. One flight was 20000 KF points (27000 Velocity) and Virgin were asking 37000 Velocity. My points are going where the best deal is (Krisflyer). I know this is a little off topic for the exact route you are discussing but the better deal and service after transferring points was significant.
