Qantas
Platinum
Hi all,
after more than 20 years I'm just about over Qantas. There is no need to detail the reasons, they have graced these conversations time and again. I would like to have Singapore Airlines match my Qantas platinum status with their elite gold Kris Flyer, but I don't really know how to go about it. I have flights to Vietnam/Cambodia booked with Singapore later in the year.
Has anyone managed to do this outside of special offers by Singapore?
Any ideas welcome.
thanks
brad

Or you could try applying the Star Aliance credit card which gives status?

I have seen a few recent stories of success with getting a Singapore Airlines status match on StatusMatcher. Have a look at some of the recent comments on here:

You could also use StatusMatch.com to request a status match from Singapore Airlines on your behalf. You need to pay them a small fee but it seems relatively hassle-free.

As @lilkid28 said, the HSBC Star Alliance credit card could be another option.

Let us know how you go!

Thanks. I'll get back to you.

Is it possible to achieve GOLD Status with VA through a status match with a Star Alliance Airline after receiving GOLD from the HSBC Star Alliance CC?

There's also the United (for Star Alliance) and Delta (for SkyTeam) status challenges, but you need to fly with those airlines to complete the challenge.

Out of interest, how did you get in touch with Singapore Airlines and what was the offer they made to you?
I will have to find the printed email with form to fill in! It was really hard... I will post it.

1 x return flight with them (but they are terribly expensive, thinking of going to SIN different airline and doing SIN-DPS return in economy and seeing if they still do it - however all my status is learnt by flying (albeit RTW but they cant see that on activity statement I just sent to Delta)

KLM offering very cheap to DPS out of AMS (I'm in UK) if I get the Delta and will fly back via the USA or start a RTW on sky team within the limited period.

I normally use RTW DONE4 for all travel but just doesn't't work on this trip. I have latest cheapest places of origin if anyone interested.

I am now looking for sky team and star alliance cheapest places of origin - maybe they vary as much as Oneworld...

Next couple of years will need lots of Asia-Europe runs in business only, tricky one however DONE3 using PER direct or same flight number from SYD is still cheaper than a normal return if booked well.

I was just successfully status matched to KrisFlyer gold. Contacted via Singapore website, was sent a word doc to complete and return. Have a J return reservation.

I got in touch with Singapore airlines by email via a SIA webform submission somewhere on the kris flyer site. - something like SIA webform submission and the reply was from [email protected]. (I am in the UK)

This is with a status match form to fill in. Need a reservation at time of sending that I haven't done yet.

I am about to go to Asia so deciding between Turkish or Singapore to fly at least a leg on.

Anybody know which airline has/doesn't have a minimum flight requirement on their metal each year like Qantas?

I think we may need a new thread but in the meantime ...

Matched from what? How did you go about requesting the match? Can you share the Word doc?

From QF WP. I can’t attach a doc file. Screenshot below of requested fields that need filling out. Start with SIA web form submission and follow the process. Unlike my velocity status match, they are interested in flying behaviour. I was fortunate I could demonstrate some international trips this year and had a future booking.IMG_0846.png

I can't find this form any tips?

So I guess there's no chance they would match Qatar Gold given it was a status match originally with Virgin? I'm now Velocity Silver and have upcoming return flights on SA to Europe.

I suspect you would need to have Qatar Platinum, and for it to be earned from actual flying.
