Hi - new to the forums.

I'm travelling from Newcastle (UK) to Brisbane later this year, and due to the changes in the Qantas routing it makes more sense to fly on a Qantas ticket with Emirates via Dubai.

The second leg of the journey is DXB-BNE with a 1h 25 min refuelling stop at Singapore (EK432). My question is what happens at SIN during this stop - do through passengers leave the aircraft and reboard, or are they required to stay on the plane?

I have read elsewhere that the procedure at SIN is that pax have to leave the aircraft, but the Emirates contact centre (perhaps not the best people to advise) told me that through passengers stayed on the plane.

It's a 16-hour leg and I would welcome the chance to briefly stretch my legs, etc.

Has anyone flown this specific route recently and able to give a definite answer?

Thanks in advance.

I can't answer for that specific leg, but a few times flying to FRA on QF and the inbound flight has been late, we have had to disembark even though it was for 35-40 minutes before having to rejoin the wait in the departures area.

Also, there will be PAX on your flight that will only be travelling to SIN, therefore I believe that most airlines require all PAX to leave the aircraft rather than those alighting at that port. The aircraft one would hope would also be cleaned and restocked at that point even though it is just a short stop

You will have to disembark so that the LAGs screening can be done, which also means no duty free into SIN.

Welcome to the forum.

They will disembark all paxs and you will have to take all your carry on as well.

And then do the whole boarding thing again.

Thanks all. It's reassuring to know I'll be able to stretch my legs a little at SIN - I assume you're free to wander the transit area, keeping an eye on the clock?

I'm not sure what you meant about Duty Free, markis10. I was planning to shop at NCL or DXB (or SIN if time). Will this be an issue (obviously I'd have to carry it off and on the plane at SIN)?

You can only buy Duty Free liquids at the last point of departure prior to landing in Australia if its not packed in checked luggage, and only if its delivered to the gate.
In singapore thats possible, but any other duty free liquids you have purchased ad are on person will be confiscated.

Thanks for the info and link. To be honest, I'd prefer to purchase this in SIN anyway - was just concerned about being pushed for time.

In theory, but it will be a challenge during a 1:25 connection to make the cutoff for purchasing DF liquid products, which is a very strict 1:15 before scheduled departure time. If it doesn't work out there's always the (probably more expensive) DF on arrival at BNE.

Yes, a bit of a rush so will see what happens. I can buy at BNE if necessary. Duty Free grog is a bonus :)

Good point well worth bringing up, dont dawdle if its possible to buy in the time!
