There may be a perfectly logical explanation for this - but it escapes me...

In January I used a hire car once only which was in the middle of the month, and it was on the Budget triple QFF points deal. On my "Your Activity Statement" page on the QFF website it says I earned 1366 QFF points for that (which sounds about right), but on the "Your Account" page it says that I only earned 683 QFF points for hire care usage in the last 30 days.

Can anyone tell me why the apparent two figures? And is there an easy way to find out which figure has been added to my QFF points seeing as they don't have a running balance on the Activity Statement page?

Trust the Activity Statement.

The breakdowns on "Your Earn Activity" section aren't always accurate, for example sometimes they don't update until 24 hours later, sometimes they show very incorrect data and sometimes they just come up blank.

Here's probably the easiest way to manually check that the points were added properly.

- Go to "Your Activity Statement"
- Select January from the drop-down box.
- It should have a closing balance at the end of January.
- Go back to the February view and manually add what's there.

Cheers Mal - I will do that and make sure it's correct.

To add I wouldn't worry about what the icons show at all. They only display points from each particular category, so that some points earnt are not included in the total. A prime example is the 5000 point status bonus. That is not included in the icon totals, but the total points is correct. I would guess that some of your rental points have been posted as bonus points (or something) and hence not as car rental points to be added to the icon total.

Also with the monthly activity statement display for previous months it provides both a opening and closing balance, so if you want to check the total for points posted in January you can just look at that month.

Personally, I keep my own spreadsheet.

Good advice.

The query/SQL/script used to retrieve this data may have a few bugs in it! ;)

P.S I wish you would change your signature. I am getting really, really, paranoid everytime I see it. ;)

So what will Qantas "enhance" next? ...
