This has been discussed previously about reductions in QP staff to the extent of not opening the QP bar until 2pm. It grates that I'm unable to enjoy a glass or two with my sumptuous QP salad meal now as my two major CNS & TSV flights depart at 2pm.

However in the CNS QP last week I noticed that the usual hot snacks(?) did not eventuate before my departure at 5pm. Is this connected with the reduction of QP services? Does BNE QP still get the hot food scrums? I'll report on TSV QP (my current favorite) later this week.

Most QP's I have been in open the bar at 12. It used to be 1pm but it changed a while ago.

Hi Batesy, it has been reported in other threads that some QP's (like CNS) are not opening the bar now until 2pm... I believe this is a change done in the last month or so.

When I was passing through Brisbane last time the attendant at the bar advised the Bailey's was being removed from the spirits menu . Needless to say I've been in tears since... it's be interesting to see what the reduced bar menu is like this week. The (DJ) Lounge is starting to look more and more appealing by the month.

That's a bit upsetting. I love having a baileys on the rocks before an evening flight, helps get me to sleep.

Last Wednesday the Perth QC bar did not open until 2pm.

Today I noticed the Sydney QC bar did not open until until 2pm

Another cost cutting excercise by Mr Joyce?

BNE Biz Lounge food comes out at about 5.05, just after boarding of the 5.15 BNE-SYD (Snack flight). Reaaly bad during summer when that snack flight doesnt land till 7.45 SYD time

By the time I get into the BNE lounge (6:00) its all gone :(. Plenty of rabbit food for the next hour though!

I just got the same news in the Syd QP - "Sorry Sir, we don't stock Baileys anymore".

I honestly think this just made my decision on paying for the QP. (Yep, it was that borderline! It was more of a luxury than than intelligent decision based on the amount i'd use it)

Ahh well.

Yeah... 2pm at Syd QP is annoying... If you are on a 1pm flight and want a drink with lunch that should not be too much to expect...

and what is with the horrid bubbly they have there now... Sparkling Sav Blanc?? Yeach!

All i can say is we are all spoilt !!!

As much as i don't like things like slow food and drink at the QP's at the AA admirals clubs you get nothing except tea and coffee and you get booze and some food at the flagship lounges (of which there is only 5) but its no better than the business lounges domestic in AU, they have no international lounges anything like our wonderful ones provided by QF (or CX, BA etc for that matter).

Written from the currently under renovation until 2010 admirals club in BOS terminal B near gate 30 which is a joke ! but much better than the concourse... then again concourses in USA have much more than ones in Australia and are actually rather full of life.

Well, non AA Emeralds and Sapphires do get booze vouchers at A/C's.

(Although I was knocked back for one of these at BOS one Sunday morning due to Massachusetts Liquor laws)

I just came back from dps to Darwin and the Qp have a several number of sings along the bar stating the opening hours of 1pm but given the odd hours that they are open it is hit or miss even to get in

Sparkling Sav Blanc - Sheer bloody luxury!!

Last time I looked for bubbles in the QP, I got sparkling Rose!! This is not sparkling Shiraz and it is no substitute.

I was in the BNE DOM Premium Lounge last night ( 3 July)..Lady sitting next to me was drinking Baileys on the rocks...so perhaps they changed their minds.

Although the lounge was so busy I gave up and went and watched TV in the much Quieter QP ( and to have a spy on their food) noticed the only difference between the hot food were the Thai Chook pies in the Premium Lounge...and the near riot whenever they brought a fresh batch out (I always love watching that bit..reminds me of the old boarding school days)

In the MEL Domestic J lounge now - the Bar has just opened (Noon).

There are signs in the QP the bar opens at 2pm.

Bailie's and some other liqueurs are now only available in the Domestic J lounges.

Great, another dilution of QP "benefits".

So that adds value for Y to J upgrades between noon and 2pm...(if you want a pre-flight lunch drink)
