As I approach the anniversary of my membership, I find myself on 1270 status credits, successfully having passed the renewal level for Platinum. T

The only problem is that I am only a Gold and need another 130 points to qualify for the Platinum which I probably wont do unless a work committment comes out of nowhere in the next three weeks! Feeling totally peeved off, especially as I didnt fly at all for the first three months of my qualifying year due to a job change.

Does pleading with the Qantas Club do any good? Anyone know of any ways that I can get "over the line"?

Fingers crossed!!

"Pleading" might make a difference if it was a renewal of Status, eg: coming up at 1180 status credits or something. Had a colleague get his silver (old system) extended for a year when he was about 20 tier credits short, but he had been silver for years.

Mileage run is the answer - Full Y NTL-SYD is around $350 and will get you 40 credits. Similar prices/ runs to CBR, or do discount Y between SYD MEL BNE for under $100 each way.

Martyn, how did you go with the re-assessment (I presume that your status year is 31 January)? Qantas always say in their renewal letter to let them know of any future travel plans that might assist them in reassessing your position. Like Scott's friend, I pleaded my case in 2000 when I was short of silver (under old method) - having been that status every year since 1993. They agreed and kept me Silver (which became Gold).

That re-affirmed my commitment to Qantas - now after 11 months of my current year, I'm sitting on 2485 SC's (will collect another 80 next week) and have spent over $40K in airfares with Qantas in 2002.

What they touched turned to Gold, whilst it became Platinum for me. Hope the same has happened for you :P
