What can I expect staying there as an A Club Platinum? Does anyone have any experience?

Damnit!
I wrote a rely already but it disappeared.
I spent 5 days in Xian earlier this year.
I was upgraded (though at the Grand Mercure) but spent some time in the Sofitel as it is all part of the same complex and the facilities are open to all.
Pool is nice, good for a relax after big days of walking. Cafe is good value for tea - as they refresh the pot vs charging for a new one each time.
Wifi is fast, but you are locked out of Twitter and Facebook but there are ways around that (discussed in other threads).
Bus 603 is awesome for the Sofitel/Renmin Square.
Let me know if you need any info.

I stayed there about 2 years ago as an Accor gold. Offered late checkout only, and think we were offered 2 free drinks (had booked 2 rooms). Rooms were reasonable, but even the non smoking rooms smelled badly of smoke (common throughout China I guess). Location is good, grounds are quite pretty.
