Should have signed up years ago  Anyway I've done a lot of research and have a few questions, which I'm sure for people with more knowledge are quite simple :p

AMEX. From my research any expense from PayPal will accrue points as normal. Is this correct?

Which Visa or Mastercard would accrue the most Velocity points based on $30,000 of payments to the ATO?

With BP’s velocity program ($1 = 1 point), will paying with a velocity earning card mean ‘double points’? Say $100 = 100 points, then CC say $100 = 150 points, so ends up 250 points for a $100 transaction.

For overseas transactions of approx $5000 AUD per year, is there any card that pays for it’s cost in points earnt? Have a feeling a no-points but no currency conversion card is best.

With the Amex Travel Credit, can you buy a domestic flight then use points to upgrade it?
Is it better to do upgrade via points, or use the credit to buy a business class ticket directly?

Welcome to AFF, you'll get lotsa good info here. All good questions, but I think you may need to do a lot of reading and research. As good as it would be to short circuit all that work, is is actually good for you to understand the underlining info. Others may have more info on yr Qs.

Thanks! I've done quite a bit - which opened a can of worms in itself full of technicalities - however I'm relatively on-top of the earning side. I only know a bit on the redeeming side (yeah sure points for upgrades etc; but availability, tips and tricks, figuring out my personal point value and so forth).

I didn't want to mention specific cards I was looking at to avoid an echo chamber.
I think I know the answers to the questions, however I'm aware my knowledge is limited compared to others so safer to check before I get unsuitable products.
