Hi, I had an idea to make massage therapy stations available to frequent business travelers, not the usual fluff and stroke some oil around type of affair, but specific therapies to add solutions for physical travel stress issues. These include neck and shoulders, middle back and lower back.

I was intending to place each station at the beginning and the end of each long haul leg. I thought it was a great idea, and I sent the fabulous news out to every airline on the planet. I was most surprised to find not one positive reaction. Hmmm

Then I began speaking with travelers who told me before the leg, forget it, people are rushed, sensory overload factors come into play, therefore that's a no go. And then at the end of the leg, the high flyer just wants to get outs there.

So, what does that leave me with? Not much, perhaps transit airports where Qantas or Air NZ passengers need to wait for hours, and how many similar flight passengers need to do this? Anyone got any ideas which may help, would be appreciated. Thanks, Max

Welcome aboard Max Muzza Ernst, I have enjoyed free massages in airport lounges - I'm not sure I would directly pay for one at an airport sorry

Max whilst I applaud any entrepreneurial endeavor best advice I can give here that is concept has no legs whatsoever - move on to your next startup idea because this one is dead. (IMHO of course)

I appreciate that, but I was thinking of the therapy being included in the ticket price, that's why I approached the airlines, not for economy class of course the logistics would be out of control.

QF F pax out of SYD/MEL already get this for free.

You've got way too many things to organise and get in line to make it worthwhile.
All staff would need specific identification to go airside at international terminals (ASIC?). You would need to rent space with studios and lots of equipment.
Specially trained staff and so on.

Have a look at BKK airport and see their air side operation.

I think you’ll find that the airlines that want to do this already offer it. But good luck with your venture. I for one do enjoy a massage pre flight.

I'm all for pre and after flight massages. If only I could get one during a flight. If there's massage facilities at the airport, I'm having one otherwise I scope out spas near our hotel on arrival and departure.

I want to thank everyone for the input, my idea has somewhat been shot out of the sky and sits a burnin' and a smolderin' at my feet. Bugger! I thought I was onto something. In-flight massage was mentioned, Virgin Atlantic and Air Malta tried it, failed miserably.
